How it works
Upload
Add your .gpx files in the order you want them joined. Tracks, routes and waypoints are read, in GPX 1.0 or 1.1.
Choose the result
One continuous track for a ride cut by a GPS reset or a battery swap, or one track per file for rides on different days.
Download and open
Click Merge and one .gpx downloads. It opens on Garmin, Komoot, Strava, Google Earth and any app that reads GPX.
What happens to your data
Order
files are joined in the order you add them, and you can reorder or remove them before merging.
Segments
one continuous track means one segment, so Garmin and Komoot show no gap where the files meet. Routes are folded in as track points.
Waypoints
every waypoint from every file is kept with its name and description; an exact duplicate is kept once.
Elevation
the altitude of each point is written exactly as it was in its source file. Nothing is smoothed, simplified or re-routed.
Which result should I choose?
One continuous track
For one ride recorded in several pieces. Garmin, Komoot and Strava treat it as a single activity with one distance and one profile.
One track per file
For several rides you want in one file, each with its own name. Google Earth and GPX viewers list them separately; some GPS units only load the first track.
Need another format?
The merged file is a normal GPX. You can open it on the map with the GPX to Google Maps converter or turn it into a KML with the GPX to KML converter.
Frequently asked questions
How do I merge GPX files online?
Drop two or more .gpx files on the tool above, in the order you rode them, choose one continuous track or one track per file, and click Merge. One .gpx downloads in seconds.
Is the GPX merge tool free?
You can start for free: each month you get 2 free conversions with a free account, or 1 without one. Pro Lifetime is a one-time payment for unlimited conversions in both directions.
Will my Garmin accept a very long merged track?
Some Garmin devices truncate a track above about 10,000 points, and Garmin Connect struggles with files far beyond that. We do not cap your data, so if the merged file is very long, split it into day-sized files instead.
Does merging keep my waypoints and elevation?
Yes. Every waypoint from every file is kept, exact duplicates are dropped once, and the elevation of each point is written as it was in the source file.
